This wine is a Reserva from Bodegas Muga, a renowned winery in the Rioja region of Spain. The 2019 vintage is made primarily from Tempranillo (70%), with Grenache (20%), Mazuelo (10%), and Graciano (10%).

What is particularly attractive about this grape is its mellow smoothness. It is a rounded wine,  and melds beautifully with roats lamb or pulled pork. A classic dish to pair this with will be the levho al horno, which is a slow roasted suckling lamb cooked in an open oven. Alternatively, it matches well with the richness of corn so feel free to pair it with nachos or polenta.

On the nose, it offers complex aromas of blueberries, cinnamon, and spicy nuances. The palate is long, balanced, and elegant, with perfectly integrated acidity and smooth tannins. The flavors include black cherry, pomegranate, milk chocolate, violet, caramel, and eucalyptus. The finish is very long and fruity.
