Supporting Moura – Building Our Future Together
If you've visited Moura over the last three years, firstly, thank you.
Your support has allowed us to build something we're incredibly proud of here in Cardiff. Like many independent hospitality businesses, we've experienced our fair share of challenges, but none more significant than the prolonged roadworks and road closures that blocked access to our restaurant for months last year. Although those barriers have now gone, the financial impact remains, and we're continuing to work hard to recover.
The good news is this:
We're not standing still.
We're adapting, improving, and evolving every part of what we do to make Moura even better while keeping our prices as fair as possible.
What's New at Moura?
More Craft Beer, Better Value
We've expanded our range of craft beers to bring you some of the most exciting breweries and styles available right now.
You'll now find favourites such as Lindemans Peach and Raspberry, alongside special releases like the Percolate Coffee Stout from Hard Lines Coffee and Beak Brewery, as well as plenty of other rotating beers that we'll continue to introduce throughout the year.
You'll also notice more cans and fewer bottles.
This isn't just a trend—it's a conscious decision. Glass bottles have become dramatically more expensive, with some products increasing in cost by over 30%. By moving many of our beers into cans, we can continue offering fantastic products without passing those rising costs directly on to our customers.
New Seasonal Drinks
Summer calls for lighter drinking.
Look out for cocktails including:
-
Hugo Spritz
-
Aperol Spritz
-
French 75
along with seasonal specials throughout the warmer months.
Our Signature Baguettes
Our freshly made signature baguettes have quickly become one of our most popular lunch options.
Served in authentic French sourdough baguettes and available to take away for just £8.50, they're made fresh daily and often sell out.
The fillings rotate regularly, so keep an eye on our website and social media to see what's available.
Supporting Families
We're also reducing the price of our children's meals in line with the Government's reduced VAT initiative.
We believe that eating out should remain accessible for families, and wherever possible we're committed to passing savings directly on to our guests.
New Offers
We're introducing more ways to enjoy Moura throughout the week.
Wednesday & Thursday – Retail Wine Corkage Offer
Choose any bottle from our retail shelves and enjoy it in the restaurant by simply paying corkage instead of full restaurant pricing.
Sunday Dining Offer
Enjoy a full three-course meal on Sundays and receive 10% off your food bill.
(Unfortunately we can't extend this to drinks, as margins are already incredibly tight.)
Upcoming Events
We're continuing to grow our programme of live music and special events.
Our next live music afternoon features Bella Collins, with live music running until 5pm while the restaurant remains open until 8pm.
If you're joining us for three courses that Sunday, you'll also receive our 10% food discount.
This is exactly the kind of atmosphere we love creating at Moura—great food, great music and a relaxed afternoon with friends and family.
Five Ways You Can Support Moura
Running an independent restaurant has never been more challenging, but there are plenty of ways you can help us continue doing what we love.
1. Make the Most of Our Offers
Whether it's our Sunday dining offer or our Wednesday and Thursday corkage evenings, every visit makes a genuine difference.
2. Join Us for an Event
Live music, tastings and special evenings don't just create memorable experiences—they help keep independent hospitality thriving.
3. Pop In for a Coffee
You don't need to book a table to support us.
Drop in for one of our speciality coffees, enjoy a biscuit, meet a friend, catch up on some work or simply take a break. Every visit helps.
4. Donate If You're Able
Following the disruption caused by last year's prolonged road closures, we're working hard to reduce the debt that built up during that period.
Some people have asked if there's a way they can help even if they can't visit regularly, so we've created a GoFundMe page for anyone who would like to contribute. There is absolutely no expectation, but every donation, no matter how small, helps us move one step closer to securing Moura's future.
5. Support #VATIsTheProblem
Hospitality businesses across the UK are calling for VAT on non-alcoholic hospitality sales to be reduced from 20% to 10%.
This isn't simply about helping businesses—it helps make cafés and restaurants more affordable for everyone.
Please take a moment to sign the campaign and help support positive change for the entire hospitality sector.
Together, we can help make eating out more accessible while protecting independent businesses like Moura for the future.

Whether you join us for lunch, pop in for a coffee, come along to an event, share our story, sign the campaign or donate to our fundraiser, every single gesture makes a difference.
Thank you for believing in what we're building.
We look forward to welcoming you to Moura soon.
