“Le Voisin du Dessous” (literally translated to “the downstairs neighbor”) is a cheeky reference to the vineyards just above it in locality, which just so happens to be the famed Condrieu appellation in the Northern Rhône, known for its iconic aromatic viognier wines. Made by Rhône Valley rebels Franck Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier, this wine is part of their playful, terroir-driven range that highlights lesser-known plots and expressive varietals. Grown in sun-drenched vineyards in the Southern Rhône, the grapes are harvested early in the morning to preserve freshness, then fermented in stainless steel to let Viognier’s natural character shine. No oak, no makeup—just pure peach, apricot, white flowers, and a hint of orange blossom. On the palate, it’s round yet zesty, with a sumptuous silky texture. This wine is 100% Viognier with 100% personality, and gets both thumbs up from our buyer, who is a viognier fiend!
